Christmas at Biltmore 

George Vanderbilt introduced his new home to family and friends on Christmas Eve 1895 with a wonderful celebration that we continue today. Enjoy America's largest home decorated with dozens of Christmas trees, hundreds of wreaths, bows, and poinsettias, miles of evergreen garland, and thousands of ornaments.

Christmas at Biltmore during the daytime includes access to Biltmore House, the Gardens and Antler Hill Village & Winery. The village links to the Winery, where visitors may take a complimentary guided tour culminating with a complimentary wine tasting. You'll also find Santa and Mrs. Claus each weekend at the Antler Hill Village Barn.

65th Asheville Antiques Fair

 

Visit the oldest Antiques Fair in the Southeast. On Friday, November, November 5th, the Fair opens its doors for the 65th year at the Exposition Center of The Crowne Plaza Resort. The Fair is a three day event with forty antique dealers from across the country participating. This year's Fair will host the "Heirloom Road Show" with expert evaluations of antiques and it will include an expert lecture series and exhibition celebrating the heritage of the Appalachian Mountains. The Asheville Antiques Fair is a non-profit organization. The Fair is staffed by volunteers with proceeds donated to historical project within Buncombe County. The 2011 beneficiary is the Bascombe Lamar Lunsford collection at Mars Hill College.

Because nothing goes together better than firefighters and chili, Asheville Chili Chow Down 3.0 will honor fallen firefighter Captain Jeff Bowen and benefit the scholarship fund for his three children. Adding more excitement to the event is the inaugural Fire Truck Pull where up to 100 people will pull the truck more than 50 feet on Coxe Avenue. Event organizers will be filming the pull for submission into the Guinness Book of World Records.
